The plan….

1. Get diagnosis- this was a very difficult part of my journey because I was dismissed and shuffled around.
1 st surgery was a Surgical Biopsy- a total of 18 biopsies
Additional biopsies Looking for more cancer

2. port installation

3. chemotherapy

4. Surgery-Node dissection- this consisted of my breast surgeon removing all of my lymph nodes under my right arm.

Lymph nodes are something that many people don’t know much about. But they help the body to channel fluid. And without

them your body can sweep and that swelling comes with a set of additional complications. The conditions is called

Lymphodema and there is no cure.

5. Radiation to my chest and lymph node area

6. Port removal
7. Surgery-Double Mastectomy with reconstruction- approximately 9 months after chemo has ended is surgery
8. Surgery-More breast reconstruction

At this point I am looking at 2 more possible surgeries. More reconstruction and a lymph node transfer surgery.

This is the plan that my team at Moffitt Cancer devises. It is very different than most treatment plans but I trust my doctors. I also consult with a representative from the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Awareness team. I never knew how much I loved my life and myself until eminent change was upon me. I knew after all this treatment I would not be the same. I am better!
